Center in Holmdel NJ is to proceed as planned.
LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN ///
Kristeen will be singing with Morrissey on the David
Letterman show Friday, June 29.
She wails a "background" vocal on Morrissey's new single,
"That's How People Grow-Up"....and this is what will also
take place on the television program.
MIDWESTERN BEAT
/// Q & A With Kristeen Young
MWB:
The cover art on the new album evokes Ebenezer Scrooges'
encounter with the human manifestations of Ignorance and
Want, and on your first LP you quote Dickens from the same
story. What is it about Dickens that appeals to you and
what themes of that story do you gravitate to?
KY:
Dickens is colourful and transcendent, but at the same time
earthbound. He speaks about everyday problems, but makes
it larger than life. That is the ultimate goal. Orphans,
outcasts, and ghosts...I can't resist.

"KILL
THE FATHER" is the first single from the upcoming
KRISTEENYOUNG album, The Orphans. The Orphans is a live,
raw recording of Kristeen's affected, overdriven piano (that
really wants to be a guitar), her distinctive, (but always
intentionally) annoying vocals, and Baby Jeff White's bombastic,
OTT drum stylings. The album's theme, The Orphans, refers
to Kristeen's experiences in this world as an "adopted",
bi-racial infant/child and then, as a struggling (in so
many ways) "DIY rock artist" adult. THE SINGLE,
"KILL
THE FATHER", WILL BE RELEASED IN THE UK (on Morrissey's
Attack label) on AUGUST 21.
UK residents, please purchase at REAL, WALK-IN SHOPS....
Like Virgin or HMV. These are the only purchases that count
for the British record charts.... Archaic, but true.

Review
from Chicago's show by legendary rock critic, Jim
DeRogatis, of the Chicago Sun Times.
"Specially
chosen by the headliner to open all of his recent overseas
shows, Kristeen Young is a St. Louis singer, songwriter,
keyboardist and vocalist now based in New York. With powerful
accompaniment from drummer Baby Jeff White, her personality
filled the cavernous and unforgiving space of the Aragon,
and the duo came on like an unrelenting version of the Gang
of Four fronted by Kate Bush, with a hint of Siouxsie and
the Banshees."
